Apple is getting closer to releasing its next OS updates, offering RC builds of iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, macOS Sequoia 15.2, watchOS 11.2, visionOS 2.2, and tvOS 18.2 for testing.

The latest RC round comes after the fourth, which arrived on November 20 for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and the third round of watchOS. The third round of tvOS and visionOS arrived on November 18.

Apple’s fourth beta of visionOS 2.2 arrived earlier on Tuesday, on its own.

The iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 RC builds share the build number 22C150, replacing 22C5142a. The macOS Sequoia 15.2 RC build is 24C98, replacing 24C5089c.

The watchOS 11.2 RC build is 22S99, and the tvOS 18.2 RC build is 22K154. The visionOS 2.2 RC build is 22N840.

At the same time, Apple released the release candidate for iPadOS 17.7.3 with build number 21H312. The RC for macOS Ventura 13.7.2 is build 22H313, and the fourth RC for macOS Sonoma 14.7.2 is build 23H311.

For iOS and iPadOS, the main changes to Apple Intelligence were graphical, including the introduction of Genmoji and Image Playground. iPhone 16 owners can try out Visual Intelligence by asking questions using the iPhone camera.

Writing Tools, a previous addition to iOS and iPadOS, is getting a new API for third-party apps.

Siri has long-awaited ChatGPT integration for some queries. Apple is also making Apple Intelligence available in more regions.

A new feature introduced in Round 3 is Find My adding Share Item Location. It allows users to share the location of an AirTag or other Find My-enabled accessory with third parties, including airlines.

AppleInsider and Apple strongly recommend that users do not install test operating systems or other beta or RC software on “mission-critical” or primary hardware due to the low likelihood of issues that could result in data loss. Testers should therefore use secondary or non-primary devices and ensure they have adequate backups of any mission-critical data.
