The visionOS 2.1 release candidate has been updated just a day after its release with a fix for Apple Music.
Apple Intelligence is set to arrive with iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 around October 28, so Apple is gearing up to release those operating systems. Release candidates were sent to developers on Monday for nearly every OS, including visionOS 2.1, but it was found to have a minor bug.
Apple fixed the bug on Tuesday with a quiet release of visionOS 2.1 RC 2. The release notes say the new RC fixes an Apple Music bug that prevented songs and videos from playing.
visionOS 2.1 RC 2 has build 22N581, up from 22N580.
There aren’t many changes with visionOS 2.1 other than the standard bug fixes and other improvements. The Apple Vision Pro will get access to Apple Intelligence features at a later date, but it’s not among the devices that will launch.
Apple has also shortened the cycle of previous beta updates, with beta 6 arriving just days after beta 5. These quick beta cycles have not been accompanied by user complaints about platform issues during testing, but Apple may be trying to get ahead of potential problems with the nascent platform.
All signs point to new operating system updates being released on October 28. The current release candidate release should be the final version shipped to customers.
