Don't expect the new M4 Mac mini to fit in too tight of a space, because you'll have to tilt it to reach it every time you want to turn it on English:
If the placement of the charging port on the Magic Mouse isn’t the questionable design decision it’s been called, then the new Mac mini’s power button might be. As Apple deliberately didn’t show in its launch video or new ads, the Mac mini’s power button is located underneath the device.
As you can see on the new M4 Mac mini’s online store page, the button isn’t at the very base of the model. It is, however, underneath it, raised off the ground only by a vent.

It’s located toward the rear left of the device when viewed from the front. So, to turn on the Mac mini or force it to restart if it’s frozen, users will need to at least reach underneath the device.
Given the gap between the main body of the Mac mini and the slight lift provided by the vents, it’s likely that users will need to tilt or lift the device to reach the button.
Previously, the power button was on the right-hand side of the device, again when looking at the M2 Mac mini from the front. This meant reaching behind the device, but since that's where the power and other cables also connect, pressing the button didn't require moving the device.
We're looking forward to seeing what accessories and docks come out as a result.
