Apple Pay's annual giving campaign, which aims to to help vulnerable communities affected by AIDS, raising a total of $3 million in 2024.
Apple has a long-standing partnership with the Global Fund, an organization that provides healthcare and funding for people affected by HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis in developing countries. On December 1st each year, Apple commemorates World AIDS Day by displaying (PRODUCT)RED products and promoting related books.
The company isn't just raising awareness, though, it's also running a donation campaign aimed at helping communities affected by AIDS. The donation campaign is based on customer purchases from November 29th to December 8th, Apple announced.
In 2023, Apple donated $1 for every eligible purchase a user made using Apple Pay on Apple.com, through the Apple App Store, or at any Apple Store, with the total donation capped at $1 million. Proceeds from select games were also donated that year.
This year, in 2024, Apple donated $5 for every eligible purchase from November 29 to December 8, raising a total of $3 million. The campaign highlights the impact of user choices on global issues by tying the donation amount to user purchases.

The Global Fund has saved an estimated 65 million lives through its various efforts, with the organization distributing $65 billion in funding and providing vital health services in sub-Saharan Africa and elsewhere since 2002.
In 2021, Apple shared that it raised more than $270,000 through its partnership with the Global Fund. The company is offering some of its devices in a unique (PRODUCT)RED color, with the Global Fund receiving a portion of the proceeds from each device purchased.
For example, the standard iPhone 14 and the third-generation iPhone SE are available in (PRODUCT)RED. Newer products, such as devices in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 series, are not yet available in (PRODUCT)RED, unlike previous models.
