Sudoku for Apple News+

Apple has added Sudoku to its collection of puzzles on Apple News+, giving subscribers another way to test their brainpower every day.
Apple News+ offers subscribers in the US and Canada a selection of puzzles that are updated daily, and the first iOS 18.2 developer beta adds another challenge to the collection.
The new addition is Sudoku, a common number-based logic puzzle that has quickly become a staple alongside crosswords in newspapers around the world. The discovery was first made by Chris Carley, spotted by 9to5Mac
Like the paper version, Sudoku requires players to include every digit from 1 to 9 so that it appears in every horizontal and vertical line of a nine-by-nine grid. Each three-by-three cell in the grid must also include a digit from 1 to 9, forcing players to figure out which number belongs in which empty space while also following the rules.
The version included in the News app offers puzzles in three difficulty levels, and also tracks how often you manage to solve them.
Sudoku appears alongside Quartiles, Crossword, and Mini Crossword puzzles, which can be found by opening the News app, selecting Subscriptions, and then Puzzles.
In addition to being available only to Apple News+ subscribers in the U.S. and Canada, Sudoku will only be available on devices running iOS 18.2. For now, that's the iPhone 15 Pro and all iPhone 16 models, until Apple makes a beta available to all compatible devices in the future.
