Anthropic Announces Claude AI Chatbot App for iPhone and iPad

AI research and security company Anthropic has announced the release of the Claude app for iOS, offering users easier access to a conversational agent from their iPhone.


Similar to OpenAI ChatGPT, the Claude chatbot processes large amounts of text data to understand and generate human reactions. Its architecture is based on machine learning techniques, including large language models (LLM).

While ChatGPT is primarily designed for versatility and scalability, Anthropic says its focus is on creating “guided” AI to allow users to more effectively control the model's style and content, thereby mitigating potential harmful effects and biases from the start.

The artificial intelligence company says its Claude iOS app capabilities are:

  • Seamless Sync with web chats: pick up where you left off. Devices.
  • Vision capabilities: Use photos from your library, take new photos, or upload files so you can have real-time image analysis, contextual understanding, and mobile-centric use cases in Go.
  • Open Access: Users of all plans, including Pro and Team, can download the app for free.

According to Anthropic, early testers report that the Claude App Ideal for brainstorming ideas on the go, getting quick answers to questions, or analyzing real-world scenes and images.

In March, Anthropic announced that its Claude 3 language model outperformed ChatGPT and Google Gemini in a variety of important industry tests. According to the company, Claude 3 excelled in areas such as graduate-level reasoning, multilingual mathematics and programming, among other metrics.

Anthropic also highlighted that their most advanced version of Claude 3, called Opus, demonstrated near-human-level capabilities, especially in fast response, making it well suited for complex and time-sensitive tasks.
