Inside Apple Opture '#039; S Weather App
In 2020, Apple acquired a popular weather application, Dark Sky. By 2021, many of the Dark Sky functions were included in the Apple ' S Weather as part of the iOS 15. In 2024, the Dark Sky autonomous application was removed from the application store.
with the advent of iOS 16 in 2022, Apple began to collect weather data in several sources. According to Apple, this includes Breezometer, the weather channel, the national atmospheric and national administration of ocean and atmospheric resources, as well as many regional and country sources of weather data.
, while the weather application spent almost eighteen years on the iPhone, it is much shorter on other Apple platforms. In fact, it will not appear both on the iPad and MAC until 2022, as part of the iPados 16 and MacOS Ventura, respectively.

The weather is a relatively simple application compared to other proposed applications. When you open the application, the weather will use the location services to get a forecast for your current location.
In the upper part of the application you will see the current temperature and conditions, as well as high and low during the day. The background of the weather application will change to reflect the weather in real time.
If there are any serious notifications about the weather or inevitable precipitation, they will look directly under the temperature.

Below this you will find an hourly forecast that gives you a quick look at what temperature and conditions you can expect within the next 24 hours. And below, you will find your 10-day forecast.
Scroll further down leads you a few more widgets. This includes your air quality index (AQI), a rainfall, it feels like temperature and UV -index. Even more down – a box denoting the conditions of the wind, the time of sunrise/sunset for a certain place, the predictions of precipitation over the next 24 hours, visibility and humidity.

Finally, you will see information about the phases of the moon, the current temperature compared to historical average and barometric pressure.

Using Apple
using the weather application is quite simpler. While you can run it directly from the application icon, you can also configure the weather both on the lock screen and on the home screen. This is convenient if you want to immediately follow the weather.
However, you can also configure the weather application in several key methods.
The addition of additional cities is performed by clicking on the hamburger menu in the lower right corner. Cities can be added using codes of a city or airports. After adding, you can simply spend left and right to view additional places.
Setting the weather notifications
