Apple Vision Pro Becomes a Virtual Design Studio with 'Analogue'

Apple Vision Pro

A new app turns Apple Vision Pro into a virtual design studio where teams can collaborate across continents as if they were in the same room.

Analogue, specifically designed for Apple Vision Pro, enables design teams to collaborate in an immersive, real-time experience. It effectively solves problems like workflow bottlenecks and compatibility issues by allowing teams to collaborate from anywhere and prototype without writing code.

The platform serves a variety of industries, including retail, architecture, automotive design, and product development. Key features of Analogue include:

  • Real-time collaboration via SharePlay on FaceTime.
  • Customizable viewpoints via Vantage Points.
  • Real-time asset testing with Asset Variants.

These features help teams speed up design approvals and support innovation. Spatial has developed curated launch scenes tailored to different sectors to showcase their potential.

The platform supports virtual design reviews in automotive design, allowing teams to evaluate and refine vehicle interiors in immersive 3D environments. Analogue enables architecture teams to create realistic preliminary visualizations for projects such as lobbies, retail stores, and other dynamic spaces.

The platform can also streamline product development with interactive 3D design reviews. Teams can collaborate in real time, offering feedback and refining details in a shared virtual space.

“We’re proud to work with Spatial to build on National Geographic’s rich legacy of storytelling, inviting countless people to join us in our mission to illuminate and protect the wonders of our world,” said National Geographic Society CEO Jill Tiefenthaler. “Using innovative technology helps us connect our audiences with the science, beauty, and mysteries of our planet in entirely new and creative ways, inspiring the Explorer in everyone.”

The Future of Spatial

Spatial partners with leading design teams to enhance Analogue’s immersive audience experiences. At the same time, the company is developing Analogue Designer, its own 3D design tool, scheduled to launch in early 2025.

Built on modern spatial computing standards, the tool aims to transform and accelerate traditional creative workflows for teams around the world. With native support for OpenUSD, Analogue Designer integrates seamlessly into previously complex 3D workflows.

OpenUSD support removes proprietary barriers and dramatically speeds up design review. OpenUSD is quickly gaining industry support from founding members Pixar, Apple, NVIDIA, Adobe, and Autodesk.

Spatial, a 2023 member of the Alliance for OpenUSD, streamlines design processes and drives 3D collaboration across industries.

Analogue is available for download in the visionOS App Store.
