A Southern California man is suspected of two separate thefts that involved waiting outside for a UPS truck to arrive and then taking a package containing a MacBook Pro from the driver, claiming to be the recipient.

According to ABC 7, one such theft occurred in Irvine, and after the station reported on it, a viewer told the station that the same thing happened to him in Lawndale.

“We saw the video that happened in Irvine,” the second homeowner said. “Same guy.” He added that the thief showed a fake ID, claiming to be the homeowner.

UPS Driver Accused of Apple Watch Theft

There was also another alleged UPS delivery crime in Los Angeles, but this time the accused thief was a driver.

According to KTLA, a UPS driver was fired after he was caught on surveillance video stealing an Apple Watch.

The video shows the driver carrying a package to a porch, removing the Apple Watch from its packaging, and then throwing the empty box in a neighbor’s trash can.

“The temporary seasonal rental has been terminated,” UPS said in a statement to the network.
