Watch the MSL Cup Final Free on Apple TV This Saturday

Major League Soccer on Apple TV

The MSL season culminates this Saturday when the LA Galaxy take on the New York Red Bulls for the 2024 cup, and the match and all coverage will be free on Apple TV.

The free streaming of the final on Apple TV devices, smart TVs, gaming consoles and other devices follows Apple doing the same for Lionel Messi’s debut earlier in the season. The debut reportedly doubled Apple’s MLS Season Pass subscriptions, and Apple is no doubt expecting another surge as the season progresses.

As always, the MLS Season Pass costs less and less as the season goes on, and people can now subscribe to get the last few matches for free. However, users won’t need to subscribe for Saturday’s MLS Cup match, and Apple is showing it even further and wider than usual.

Apple says the match will be shown in Apple Stores as well as on TVs. It will also be shown live in New York City’s Times Square on Silvercast’s high-definition Mega-Zilla, which is a screen that spans an entire city block.

Visitors to Times Square will also be able to see a 15-foot replica of the Philip F. Anschutz Trophy.

Away from New York City, this year’s match will also be broadcast on Apple Vision Pro. The live stream will also include spatial audio.

MLS Season Pass subscribers get the broadcast starting at 2:30 p.m. ET. They’ll see extended editions of the “MLS Countdown” and “MLS La Previa” pre-match shows, both of which are live.

The match broadcast will begin at 4 p.m. ET. Apple will provide commentary in English and Spanish. Apple says its free Apple Sports app will stream match information, team stats, and live streams on iOS 18.
