Just 24 hours after releasing a small update for iOS and iPadOS, Apple released a similar version of tvOS, bringing it to up to version 17.5.1.
Apple released a spot release for iOS and iPadOS 17 on Monday, bringing a minor fix to the operating systems. This was done to fix a bug that was causing a user's deleted photos to reappear in the Photos app.
A day later, on Tuesday, Apple released another update, resulting in tvOS receiving the same version – 17.5.1. The new build, numbered 21L580, replaces tvOS 17.5, released on May 13th.
It's unclear whether the update is related to the same issue as in iOS and iPadOS. Of course, it maintains version parity with mobile operating systems.
How to update to tvOS 17.5.1
- On Apple TV, go to the Settings
- Select System
- Select Software Updates
- Select Update Software
