Cynthia Bowman is Apple's latest vice president of inclusion and diversity after a 17-year career at Bank of America.

In recent years, Apple has undergone several changes in its approach to managing diversity and inclusion. The position of Chief Executive Officer (Chief Human Resources Officer) was introduced in 2023 following the separation of the role from Deirdre O'Brien, who now focuses exclusively on retail.

The executive reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer is the Vice President of Inclusion and Diversity. Cynthia Bowman has stepped into the role, according to a Bloomberg report.

“We are thrilled that Cynthia Bowman will serve as Apple’s next Vice President of Inclusion and Diversity,” an Apple spokesperson said in a statement. “Cynthia is a seasoned leader in her field and is deeply committed to the work we do to advance inclusion and diversity at Apple.”

During her tenure at Bank of America, Bowman served as chief diversity, inclusion and social responsibility officer. Her career there lasted 17 years before she left the company in early 2024.

Apple's commitment to diversity and inclusion is one of the company's key tenants. The company has a dedicated website to showcase its efforts, although it hasn't been updated with new data since 2022.
