Apple and Samsung ranked first in customer satisfaction study

Apple and Samsung lead the way in satisfaction among smartphone buyers, but the Galaxy edges out the iPhone when it comes to 5G users.

Apple traditionally occupies a leading position in satisfaction surveys and analysis of hardware sales throughout the year. According to a new American Customer Satisfaction Index survey, Apple continues to do this with the iPhone.

In ACSI's 2023-2024 Wireless Telephone and Cellular Phone Service Study, the overall telephone industry saw an increase in customer satisfaction. The 2024 figure of 81 is 3% higher than the 2023 figure and is a record high.

ACSI says this is largely due to the popularity of 5G smartphones, which outperform legacy technologies in customer satisfaction by nearly 10 points.

As for phone brands, Apple's 81 score in 2023 has increased by one point to 82 out of 100. Apple is in first place along with Samsung, which has risen from 80 to 82 in the same time frame .

Google ranks second with a score of 77, which below the 2023 figure of 78. It is joined by Motorola (Lenovo), which occupies the same position, whose rating increased from 75 to 77.

Overall, the survey showed an 81 point for satisfaction with phones of all brands, which is two points higher. from 2023.

Whereas Apple and Samsung have the same overall ratings , Samsung is indeed leading in terms of 5G users. In this subcategory, Samsung scored 83, Apple scored 82, and Google and Motorola each scored 78.

In terms of industry trends, ease of phone calls remains a top priority, with an overall score of 86 out of 100 in 2024. Video quality, website satisfaction and variety of phone features received a score of 86. , while Bluetooth performance and ease of text messaging follow in 84th place.
