Apple should release new iPads on May 7

In this week's episode of the AppleInsider Podcast, your regular hosts discuss changing the rules EU for small developers, some Apple ID errors, iOS 18 leaks — and, of course, the imminent release of new iPads.
If you haven't been affected by the peculiar Apple ID bug that forces you to reset your password due to security issues, then trust us: this is a much more painful situation than it seems. Especially now that Apple has an excellent but laggy anti-stolen device feature.
It doesn't look like Apple is going to raise its hand on this issue, but it has surprisingly conceded to the European Union. The EU itself says that the iPad should not be subject to the Digital Markets Act, but it is still going to pretend that it is covered by — and Apple said okay, okay, so be it.
Apple also said quite a lot — at least for Apple — about its upcoming plans in the field of artificial intelligence. But in the short term, all eyes are on the May 7 launch of the new iPads.
