At some point in the last 24 hours, Siri on HomePod and HomePod mini seemed to have forgotten how to communicate the time. When prompted by Siri “what time is it now?” Siri cannot respond and redirects users to iPhone.
“I found some results on the Internet, I can show them if you ask again from your iPhone is Siri's complete answer to the time question. If you ask what time it is in a certain place, Siri ;Siri on iPhone, iPad and Mac shows the time as usual on demand.
This is a bug that Apple will be able to fix on the server side, so it will likely be fixed quickly. To get the time from Siri on HomePod without switching to iPhone, enter your location.
Siri provides the information you'd expect, and small errors like this are a bit disconcerting as Apple prepares for a major AI update.
The last few months Siri&zwnj ; There were also problems with HomeKit commands, and there were many complaints from smart home users. Task Siri For example, “turning off the lights in the living room” often results in the lights turning on or off completely in another room. Hopefully some of these issues will be resolved with Siri major overhaul in iOS 18 and related updates.
Update: Apple appears to have addressed the issue somewhat. To the question “what time is it?” provides time, but Siri still can't tell the time if you ask, “What time is it?” or “Can you tell me the time?”
