Adobe Express on iPhone gets Firefly

Adobe Express mobile app comes out of beta and supports iOS Creative Cloud users can now access Firefly's generative AI design tool.

Adobe Express is a lightweight design tool within the creative suite that allows users to quickly create flyers, posters, and documents with little effort.

On April 18, the new Adobe Express mobile application left beta and became available for iOS. This time, the additions include Adobe promoting the use of Adobe Firefly, its generative AI tool.

Adobe AI elements are already available on the web in August 2023. This Change is now expanding its availability to a mobile app.

The Text to Image tool lets you give your projects a new look by creating new images based on prompts. Likewise, the Text to Template feature will allow users to create invitations that are interpreted into a fully editable template.

Changes to image editing include generative fill to insert, remove, or replace elements in an image, and the use of Firefly to create or hide image elements. There are also quick actions available to edit, resize and remove backgrounds for images and videos, or even trim videos with one click.

Video also benefits from templates that can combine clips with images and music, as well as animation. Real-time caption generation is available in over 100 languages.

Video editing capabilities include timeline, layer trimming, and the ability to support 4K video footage.

Once you've created your images and videos, Adobe Express also includes a content scheduler that can preview and share your creations to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and more.

Using Adobe Firefly to create generative images using artificial intelligence is the creative suite company's latest move to make it easier for users to use. In February, Adobe introduced a “custom-built” version of Firefly AI for Apple Vision Pro.

The Adobe Express iPhone app could also help the company fend off competition from design tools rival Canva, which acquired photography and design tools maker Affinity in March.
