Apple CEO Tim Cook told Indonesia's president that the company would consider setting up production in the country, although he did not say whether that meant releasing the iPhone.

After his two-day visit to Vietnam, during which he committed Apple to expand production there, Tim Cook met with Indonesian President Joko Widodo on similar issues. Apple doesn't currently have any manufacturers in Indonesia, but Cook told the president he was willing to consider the possibility, according to Bloomberg.

“We talked about the president's desire to see manufacturing in the country, and we will look at that,” Cook said after his visit to Jakarta. “The investment opportunities in Indonesia are endless.”

As in Vietnam, Cook visited Apple users as well as government officials. He again posted on social media about who he met there.

After lunch with iPhone photographer Sofyan Pratama, Cook visited the Wayang Museum. This is the Kota Tua Museum in Jakarta, dedicated to the Javanese Wayang puppet theater.

Cook's comments come as Apple expands the Apple Developer Academy in Indonesia. Now the company has announced the opening of an academy in Bali, following previous ones in Jakarta, Surabaya and Batam.

At the time of writing, Cook's latest post is about him meeting with a group of content creators from the Indonesian creative community.

Apple does not release Cook's schedule in advance, so it is unclear whether he has completed his visit to Indonesia or whether he is heading to other countries.
