Apple released updated versions of iOS 17.4.1 and iPadOS 17.4.1 late Tuesday with an updated build number of 21E237, according to MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris. Previously, the updates had build number 21E236.
The revised updates are available for all iPhone and iPad models. compatible with iOS 17 and iPadOS 17, but can currently only be installed through the Finder app on macOS and the Apple Devices or iTunes apps on Windows. Apple hasn't made the new builds available wirelessly in the Settings app on iPhone and iPad.
It's unclear what, if anything, has changed between the builds, but any potential differences are likely very minor. For those curious, we confirm that the new builds do not contain any references to unreleased iPad models.
There have been sporadic reports on social media that iOS 17.4 and iOS 17.4.1 are causing some iPhones to freeze. in the boot loop, so it's possible that a new build will restore these devices properly, but that's just a guess.
iOS 17.4.1 and iPadOS 17.4.1 were first released last week with bug fixes and security fixes .
