Apple has signed a lease to build a new Apple Store in Miami Worldcenter, not expected to appear before 2025.

The one-story building will be located on the corner of Northeast Eighth Street, just west of the Jewel Box retail building at 725 NE First Avenue. The $12 million freestanding store has been under construction since November. This will be Apple's sixth office in the Miami-Dade area.

According to a report from Commercial Observer, the new Apple Store will join other retail giants such as Sephora, Lululemon and Ray-Ban. Miami Worldcenter will also see future tenants Starbucks, Rihanna's Savage X Fenty and The Container Store.

Miami Worldcenter is a 25-acre mixed-use development currently under construction. There are shops, accommodation and entertainment venues aimed primarily at tourists.

The store was initially rumored to be the largest in the world, but this does not appear to be the case. Since the single-storey store sits on an 18,600-square-foot site, it doesn't come close to matching the 50,000-square-foot giant Apple Store UAE located in Dubai.

Apple recently announced that a new store called Apple Jing'an will soon open in downtown Shanghai, China. This will be the eighth store in Shanghai since the first opened in 2010.
