How to Install iOS 17.4 Beta to Get iMessage Quantum Security, New Emojis, and More

Want to try out the latest iOS features early? The iOS 17.4 beta is free for everyone and includes iMessage quantum security, new emoji, the latest anti-stolen device improvement, preparation for upcoming changes to the EU App Store, and more.

The official launch of iOS 17.4 is expected in the first week of March. Some of the biggest changes are only for EU users, such as support for third-party app stores, a new default web browser prompt, and more.

However, there are updates for users worldwide, such as iMessage quantum security , 6 new emoticons, protection settings against stolen devices with the inscription “Always”; security delay option, transcripts in Apple Podcasts and Siri improvements.

How to install iOS 17.4 beta – public

  1. Make a new backup of your iPhone or iPad
  2. You may need to sign in with your Apple ID at beta.apple.com if you haven't already done so
  3. Launch Settings app on your iPhone or iPad (running iOS 16.4 at least)
  4. Tap  General&nbsp ;> Software Update
  5. Click onBeta Updates
  6. Now click on Public Beta iOS 17.4
  7. If you need to change your Apple ID associated with the beta, you can click on it below.
  8. Select Back when done
  9. Find&nbsp ;The iOS 17.4 Public Beta will appear and select Download and Install

If you don't see the option to enable beta updates or iOS 17.4 will appear:

  • Try exiting the Settings app and relaunching it.
  • Sign in with your Apple ID at beta.apple.com for free. and then try the steps above. again

How to install iOS 17.4 beta – developer

  1. A paid Apple Developer account is no longer required, but you may need to sign in with your Apple ID at developer.apple.com if you have not already done so.
  2. Create a fresh backup  on your iPhone or iPad
  3. Launch Settings app on your iPhone or iPad (running iOS 16.4 at least)
  4. Tap General > Software update.
  5. Select the button Beta updates 
  6. Now, select iOS 17.4 Developer Beta
  7. If you need to change your Apple ID associated with the beta, you can click on it below
  8. Select  Back when done
  9. Find iOS 17.4 Developer Beta so it appears, select Download and install

If you don't see the option to enable beta updates or iOS 17.4 appears:

  • Try quitting and relaunching the Settings app.
  • Sign in using your Apple ID at developer.apple.com for free, and then repeat the steps above.
