Another image has appeared confirming rumors that the iPhone 16 will use a vertical camera positioned on the back of the device .

On Friday, a leaked image of a part proved that Apple was going to use a vertical camera arrangement in the iPhone 16. A day later, another leaked photo seemed to push the idea even further.

A photo posted on Weibo and captured by Macotakara shows what is believed to be the back panel of the iPhone 16. The publication believes it could be the panel of the “iPhone 16 PVT model.”

There is an opinion that the rear cameras are similar in size to the main and ultra-wide-angle cameras of the iPhone 15 Pro, designed as if the telephoto lens was left aside.

The leak also points to the possibility that the iPhone 16 will feature a True Tone flash between the two cameras, as well as the possibility of an additional hole to accommodate a LiDAR scanner.

The report follows a claim from a well-known and dubious leaker about the vertical camera system in the iPhone 16. Renders were also released in December that suggested a similar camera configuration.

This change gives Apple several advantages, including the ability to use similar cameras in the iPhone 16 and Pro models, as well as the iPhone 16's ability to capture spatial video. This feature requires the cameras to be positioned next to each other, so the vertical layout on the iPhone 16 will mean the cameras are side by side when held in landscape orientation.

Makotakara is generally accurate when discussing leaks and rumors about future iPhone models. Given Friday's rumors, Saturday's leak seems highly plausible.
