Lotus confirms Emeya 2024 has Car Key support, which can be controlled from iPhone or Apple Watch

Almost a year later, compatibility was listed as pending; Lotus has confirmed that Apple Car Key capabilities are now available to owners of the new all-electric Emeya cars. Lotus now joins a select group of vehicles that allow drivers to perform multiple access functions from their iPhone or Apple Watch wallet.

Apple's Car Key feature , which first debuted on select BMW models in 2021, allows you to use iPhone and Apple Watch as a convenient digital alternative to key fobs or physical keys. By selecting a car key from Apple's device wallet for a compatible electric vehicle model, the feature allows owners to lock, unlock, control climate control and, in some cases, even start the vehicle remotely.

Other features include passive entry and the ability to share keys with friends and family, allowing temporary access to the vehicle no matter where you are. To date, we've seen Apple Car Key used in several Genesis and Kia vehicles, as well as BYD, as well as several BMW electric vehicles.
