More than 2,000 episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience are now available on Apple Podcasts as the star finalizes an exclusive deal with Spotify.
Back in 2020, Spotify reportedly paid Joe Rogan $200 million to bring his show to the streaming platform as an exclusive. Now, a few days after announcing the end of that exclusivity, the show has returned to Apple Podcast with its entire archive.
Rogan's controversial show will remain on Spotify, but the star's new contract — supposedly for $250 million — allows you to include it on other platforms. Spotify said it will initially appear on both Apple Podcasts and YouTube.
The podcast is officially back on @apple
We must return on @youtube with full episodes coming in the coming weeks. Thanks to @spotify for being the coolest and smartest people I've ever had the pleasure of collaborating with. I'm really excited about the podcast pic.twitter.com/lf9vpPtpLU— Joe Rogan (@joerogan) February 8, 2024
It's unclear from the announcement whether Apple Podcasts will include an archive of the show. However, as of this writing, there are over 2,000 episodes available, and dates vary throughout Rogan's three years as a Spotify exclusive.
The “Joe Rogan Experience” is controversial mainly because it allegedly contained misinformation about the coronavirus. As a result, Neil Young and other artists removed their music from Spotify, and the firm apologized but did not remove the misinformation.
