13-inch MacBook Air M2 now starts at $999, 15-inch M2 model discontinued

After announcing the new MacBook Air M3 models, Apple has reduced the starting price of the 13-inch M2-powered MacBook Air by $100, bringing it below $1,000 for the first time.


Apple originally released the 13-inch MacBook Air with the M2 chip in June 2022 with a starting price of $1,199, but reduced the price to $1,099 in June 2023 , when the 15-inch MacBook Air with the M2 chip was released. The base configuration includes an 8-core processor, 8-core GPU, 8 GB of unified memory and 256 GB of internal storage.

Pre-orders for the new MacBook Air models with the M3 chip begin today as orders become available. will arrive to customers on Friday, March 8th. The laptops will continue to be available in Midnight, Starlight, Space Gray and Silver colors with a starting price of $1,099. Apple today also discontinued the MacBook Air with the M1 chip and the 15-inch MacBook Air with the M2 chip.
