The Apple TV+ Severance streaming edition is now available on physical media: you can now buy the first season of Severance on Blu-Ray.
The physical release comes a month before the second season premieres, so if you have friends who haven't watched the show yet, this might be a great last-minute gift idea to get them all caught up before the second season starts on January 17th.
Severance is one of the few Apple Originals that is lucky enough to get a physical release. The Blu-Ray release comes a few years after the streaming premiere and only in 1080p.
Unfortunately, that includes Severance: the Blu-Ray is only available in HD with an accompanying 5.1 surround sound track. All nine episodes of the show’s first season are spread across three discs.
To get the high-quality 4K HDR video with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack, you’ll still need to watch the show on Apple TV+.
Severance has been a big hit since its launch in February 2022, earning a slew of positive reviews, including 14 Emmy nominations.
Since the season ended on a cliffhanger, fans have been eagerly awaiting a second season. But industry strikes and other production delays have taken their toll — Severance season 2 will finally premiere in January 2025, nearly three years after season 1. A third season is believed to be in development.
