When will Apple release new Airpods? This is what we know

Apple is working on a major revision of Airpods Pro, which can be released this year. In addition, New Airpods Max is also under development. Here everything we know about when to expect Apple will release new AirPods …

Apple ’ The composition of Apple Airpods, like today:

  • airpods 4 (is currently for sale for $ 99)
  • airpods 4 with active noise reduction (is currently sold for $ 149)
  • airpods Pro 2 (currently on sale for $ 169)
  • airpods airpods. (Currently on sale for $ 499) in the line. AirPods Pro 2 were introduced in September 2022 and since then have undergone significant improvements due to regular software updates. There are even new functions later this year with iOS 26.

However, from the point of view of the AirPods Pro 3 equipment, there were rumors at the Mill. Bloomberg Mark Gurman said that AirPods Pro 3 was installed for release at the end of this year. The analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, however, says that Apple does not plan on any main hardware updates for AirPods before the release of AirPods Pro 3 in 2026. However, the analyst Jeff Pu also confirmed this temporary scale. AirPods Pro 3 will start this fall. I am inclined to the Gurman’s temporary scale for this than I would be Coo or Pu. It is expected that from the point of view of the new functions, Airpods Pro 3 will bring a noticeable blow. According to reports, they will have a new H3 chip, which should lead to large updates to sound quality, battery life, connection speed, noise reduction, transparency and much more.

There were also rumors about Airpods Pro 3 with the participation of A “ New design ” any kind. The specific details here are unclear, but one of the possibilities is that Apple shortens the stems to make AirPods Pro 3 and the accompanying charging case is even more compact. I would not expect any radical changes in design, although.

Apple added revolutionary new functions of hearing health in Airpods Pro 2 last fall. It is expected that the company will continue to turn Airpods into a product focused on health with AirPods Pro 3. There are rumors about the built -in body temperature sensor, as well as about the technology of heart rate monitoring. Interestingly, the Apple Beats brand launched the headphones of Powerbeats Pro 2 at the beginning of this year with a built -in heart rhythm sensor (full review). This update, however, is unlikely to appear with Airpods Pro 3.

    AirPods Max

Apple debuted in a very insignificant revision of Airpods Max last fall, replacing the USB-C lightning port for charging and new colors. In March of this year, Apple published a firmware update for Airpods Max, introducing audio support without loss and audio-wheelchair.

According to the analyst Min-Chi Kuo, Apple does not plan to release new Airpods Max until 2027 in the near future. This update, however, may be the biggest update of Airpods Max from the moment of their launch in December 2020. In particular, Kuo says that we should expect an updated design that makes AirPods as easier as possible. This will be devoted to one of the most common complaints about the current design of Airpods Max.

there are no rumors about what to expect from AirPods 5 at the moment. I do not expect AirPods 5 will start a few more years. When they are updated, they will probably receive a new H3 chip and other improvements similar to AirPods Pro.

Having this in mind, if you are on the fence about the purchase of Airpods 4, now is the time for this.
