iOS 19 isn't expected to be announced until June 2025, but information about the software update is already starting to emerge.
Here are the biggest iOS 19 rumors so far.
More GPT-like Siri chat
iOS 19 will feature a “more conversational Siri” powered by “more advanced large language models,” according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. He said the update will make Siri more like OpenAI's ChatGPT, allowing the assistant to “handle more complex queries.”
Apple will likely unveil the updated Siri when it unveils iOS 19 at WWDC 2025 next June, but Gurman said it won't be available until spring 2026, suggesting the feature will be released as part of the iOS 19.4 update.
In the meantime, iOS 18.2 added ChatGPT integration to Siri, and Gurman expects Google's Gemini integration to follow in a later update. And with iOS 18.4, Siri will gain screen awareness, deeper per-app controls, and a few other improvements, but it still won't offer full conversational capabilities like ChatGPT directly.
Delayed Features
Gurman said some other features have been “delayed” until iOS 19.4.
“I'm told that more than the usual number of features planned for iOS 19 (beyond the new Siri) have already been delayed until spring 2026 (when iOS 19.4 debuts),” he said.
He did not provide any specific details about the features that are being delayed.
Gurman attributed the delay to the gradual rollout of Apple Intelligence features between iOS 18.1 and iOS 18.4, which prevents some Apple software engineers from moving on to iOS 19 development. In line with this information, an unnamed source at Apple told the French website iPhoneSoft.fr that they are still working on iOS 18 development.

Of course, some iOS 19 features won't be available on older iPhone models.
If this report is true, this would mark the second year in a row that Apple hasn't dropped support for any iPhone models with its major annual iOS release. iOS 18 is compatible with the same iPhone models as iOS 17.
iOS 17 dropped support for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X.
Timeline
The first betas of iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 are expected to be released during WWDC 2025 in June next year, with updates likely to arrive in September.
