However, there is a solution to turn standard CarPlay into Wireless CarPlay, and it works with iOS 17.5 and iPhone 15.

I liked 12 peopleI bought the same module for my 2018 Audi. It works flawlessly about 90% of the time. There are infrequent but periodic lags. I also have to unplug and plug the device back in about once a month to reset it. So it's not a perfect solution, but for me the convenience is worth it. View all comments

Great! Almost. From my experience driving with standard and wireless CarPlay, I know that there should be some lag when using the steering wheel controls to skip tracks.

The important thing is that the controls Wheel controls for volume, skip tracks and voice input actually work.

Standard CarPlay takes effect if you connect a Lightning or USB-C cable

Wireless CarPlay adapter

I've been very happy with the CarLink adapter for years. I highly recommend trying this adapter or a similar one if you already have CarPlay but want it wireless.

The price can be much more affordable than buying an aftermarket Wireless CarPlay head unit and paying to install it. This adapter is currently on sale on Amazon for around $55.
