After the months of delay, Apple officially announced the start of the next generation CarPlay, now with the new name “Carplay Ultra”. From today, Carplay Ultra has been available with new Aston Martin vehicles in the United States and Canada, and software updating will also bring technology for existing vehicles. Apple also said that Hyundai, Kia and Genesis are working on the addition of Carplay Ultra to their cars, but did not open the deadlines.
CARPLAY ULTRA serves all the screens in the car, and not just the main information and entertainment display. This includes digital visualization of the speedometer, tachometer, fuel level and much more. Carplay applications, such as media and navigation, can also freely integrate into the instrument cluster.
Carplay Ultra Cars also allows you to control the Siri screen or voice commands for car functions such as radio and climate, as well as functions for specific vehicles, such as productivity driving modes. IPhone widgets can also be designed on an information and entertainment display to show Glancable Information, such as a calendar or weather. Finally, something good happens to you! This means that the user interface for Carplay Ultra in Aston Martin has its own individual topic. Launch only with Aston Martin cars is quite limited. In today's press release, Apple announced the expansion of car manufacturers, devoted to support for Carplay Ultra, including Hyundai and Kia. Apple also previously showed renders of how the next generation Carplay would look in Porsche cars. Nevertheless, the deadlines do not exist when Carplay Ultra will be available on something except Aston Martin right now. This includes Aston Martin DBX, Vantage, DB12 and Vanquish. Support will expand to all its vehicles around the world over the next twelve months.
If you already have a compatible Aston Martin car, Carplay Ultra support will soon appear as a software update available to local dealers.
