The Apple Store is closed ahead of the presentation of the new iPad Pro

As is tradition, Apple has closed the Apple Store ahead of its special event, which begins at 7 a.m. PT. At the video presentation, Apple will unveil the next-generation iPad Pro, iPad Air and accompanying new Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil accessories.

The iPad Pro is expected to be the star of the show, touting a new OLED display, an M4 chip with artificial intelligence capabilities, new, slimmer industrial design and much more.

The new announcements will revive the iPad product offering, as Apple did not update the iPad at all in 2023 – a first for the company. The iPad Pro will see the biggest update since the Face ID redesign in 2018.

However, there are persistent rumors that the new iPad Pro line will become more expensive. The current 11-inch iPad Pro starts at $799, and the current 12.9-inch iPad Pro starts at $1,099 for the 128GB model. The next generation will likely go up in price by a couple of hundred dollars, perhaps with 256GB as the new minimum base storage.

The iPad Air update is expected to be a less dramatic upgrade, bringing a performance boost and little more. Updates to other iPad models, such as the base iPad and iPad mini, are expected to arrive later this year.

The new Magic Keyboard is said to be made primarily of aluminum and feature a row of function keys. like a laptop, and a larger trackpad. The new Apple Pencil may have a new pinch gesture for quick access to contextual actions.

Stay tuned to 9to5Mac as we bring you our full review of Apple's “Let Loose’” special event. Announcements will begin at 7am PT. The live video broadcast is expected to last approximately half an hour.
