Apple today updated its TestFlight app with new features designed to make it easier to beta test an app. TestFlight is an app that developers can use to distribute their app to beta testers before it’s released.
The app has also been redesigned on iPhone and iPad.
App beta invitations include a description of the app, and developers can include screenshots and information about their app category.
To narrow the pool of potential testers, developers can set criteria for testers that must meet to join the beta. Testers who choose not to join a particular beta can provide feedback to the developer explaining why. Below are Apple’s release notes for the update.
This update includes several key improvements to improve your testing experience:
- Invitations include a description of the beta app, and developers can now also include screenshots and their app category.
- Developers can now set tester criteria that you must meet to join the beta.
- You can let developers know why you chose not to join the beta using the new feedback option.
In addition, this update includes stability improvements and bug fixes.
TestFlight is a free app for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision Pro, and can be downloaded from the App Store. [Direct link]
