Spotify raises prices for the second time in 12 months, now more expensive than Apple Music

Spotify today announced it is raising prices for its Premium plan in the US to “deliver the best user experience.”


The Individual Premium Plan is now $11.99, down from $10.99. The Duo price is $16.99 (up $2), the Family price is $19.99 (up $3), and the Student price is $5.99 (no change).

On This is actually the second time Spotify has raised prices recently. last 12 months. In July 2023, the price of the Premium Plan increased from $9.99 to $10.99, representing a 20 percent increase over the past year. Before the July 2023 price increase, the Duo price was $12.99 and the Family plan was $15.99, representing an overall increase of 31 percent for Duo and 25 percent for Family after the 2024 price increase.

Spotify subscribers will soon see emails notifying them of an upcoming price increase. Emails will include instructions on how to cancel your Premium subscription.

Over the next month, US subscribers will receive an email explaining what this update means for their subscription.

Spotify Premium and Family plans now cost more at $11.99 and $19.99 USA respectively. than equivalent Apple Music plans. Apple's Individual plan costs $10.99 per month and the Family plan costs $16.99 per month.
