Slow Horses Renewed for Season 6 on Apple TV+

Apple TV+ just wrapped Season 4 of Slow Horses last week. At this point, you'd expect a Season 5 renewal, but Apple is ahead of the game. Long before Season 5 aired, Slow Horses was just renewed for Season 6.

Two New Seasons of Slow Horses on the Way

Slow Horses has become one of the most beloved series on Apple TV+. And luckily, Apple keeps releasing new seasons.

Apple previously greenlit season five and wasted no time in filming the upcoming season.

Last week, when season four ended, Apple released the first trailer for season five. The new season isn't expected to premiere until 2025.

But now it's great to see that Season 6 has been confirmed.

Season 6 will be based on two novels

Max Goldbart reports for Deadline:

Season 6 will see the spies go on the run when Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas) draws them all into a deadly game of retribution and revenge. Season 6 will be based on two Mick Herron novels, Joe Country and Slough House, which are the sixth and seventh in the book series.

Interestingly, Apple will be basing the new season on two of Herron’s novels rather than one. There are currently eight novels in the Slough House series, so Apple is quickly catching up with Herron on the writing front.

So far, each season of Slow Horses has consisted of six episodes. Season 6, with its longer source material, could have been a good opportunity to change that. But alas, Apple has confirmed that it is planning another six-episode series.

Either way, Slow Horses is the first Apple TV+ show to reach the six-season mark. The shorter seasons made it easier, but I personally wouldn't mind more episodes with shorter, more frequent episodes.
