ResMed, known for its medical devices such as CPAP machines, today announced the release of the Kontor Headband, a new accessory designed for the Vision Pro.
The Kontor Headband was designed to provide a balance of softness and support for long-term wear when using the Vision Pro. ResMed says it uses “ultra-premium” materials that are gentle on the skin, and the device features six modular counterweights to better balance the weight of the Vision Pro on the head.
“Over the past 35 years, our team has continually pushed the boundaries of innovation to create life-changing healthcare technologies that people love,” said Justin Leong, chief product officer at ResMed. “With our deep expertise in head-mounted product design, we’re excited to share our expertise in designing lightweight, comfortable facial interfaces with the Apple Vision Pro community through the Kontor Head Strap.”
The Kontor Head Strap was created based on thousands of 3D head and face scans to ensure comfort and stability for Vision Pro wearers. It comes in two sizes, including a standard for users who wear a medium or large Dual Loop Band, and a small for users who wear a small Dual Loop Band.
Apple is selling the Kontor Head Strap for $120, and it will be available to customers starting in January. More information is available on the ResMed website.
