Report: Video from Tuesday's iPad event will be about 35 minutes long

On Tuesday, May 7, Apple will host its first “Let Loose” product event of the year;. The company is going to introduce a new line of iPad Pro and iPad Air. iPad Pro tablets will have OLED displays, a new, thinner body and will be powered by an M4 chip. The iPad Air will be updated with the M2 chip and will be offered with a new, larger 12.9-inch display for the first time.

As Mark Gurman reported today, Apple is going to announce all this in a lively video presentation lasting about 35 minutes. This is similar to the runtime of the October issue of “Spooky Fast”; event.

Along with the new iPad Pro and iPad Air lineup, Apple is also expected to introduce new generations of the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil, with the latter featuring a new pinch gesture with haptic feedback.

The move to the M4 chip in the iPad Pro will be hailed as a testament to Apple's strengths in on-device artificial intelligence, as well as the gradual increase in CPU and GPU power. But it looks like we'll be waiting until WWDC in June to see what AI features Apple will include in its system, with proactive AI features expected to be the focus of iOS 18.

Atypically, the May release Event 7 is scheduled for 7 a.m. PT rather than Apple's usual 10 a.m. It's believed that Apple is experimenting with the format to see when it can get the most attention, and a slightly earlier start time is better for European and Asian time zones.

Obviously, stay tuned to 9to5Mac this week. as we provide you with complete coverage of all advertisements. Updates are expected to arrive for other iPad models later this year.
