Apple on Tuesday announced the next-generation iPad mini, featuring the A17 Pro chip that powers Apple Intelligence features. The new iPad is available for pre-order now and will go on sale in 29 countries next Wednesday, October 23. And if you're curious, here's a country-by-country list of iPad mini 7 prices.
iPad mini 7 price ranking by country
Nukeni, a research company known for ranking Apple device prices by country, has just updated its list to include the newly released iPad mini 7. The new iPad starts at $499 in the US for the 128GB Wi-Fi model. However, that's not the cheapest price for a new iPad. Hong Kong is the country where the iPad mini 7 is cheapest, with a starting price of $489.
In Malaysia, the base model of the iPad mini costs $510, which is the same as the US price (excluding taxes). Since the list is quite long, we have listed below the 10 countries where the iPad mini 7 is the cheapest:
- Hong Kong: $489
- US: $499
- Malaysia: $510
- Canada: $517
- Taiwan: $525
- Japan: $528
- Singapore: $534
- Australia: $537
- Thailand: $538
- South Korea: $550
But what about the countries where the iPad mini 7 has the highest prices? In this scenario, Brazil tops the list with the base model iPad mini priced at $1,063, more than double the US price. Turkey follows with a starting price of $701.
It is worth noting that the list only includes countries where Apple sells its products directly through its official store. There are regions of the world where products can cost even more, such as Argentina (but Apple does not have an official store there).
Of course, prices can vary for a number of reasons. The main one is the exchange rate of local currencies against the dollar. Taxes levied by each government also affect the cost of products. For example, Brazil has a policy of levying high taxes on imported products. On the other hand, Turkey has faced a severe economic recession in recent years.
More about the new iPad mini
The main new feature of the iPad mini 7 is definitely the A17 Pro chip with 8GB of RAM, the same as the iPhone 15 Pro. This brings Apple Intelligence to the iPad mini, as the previous model had an A15 Bionic chip with only 3GB of RAM and will not receive Apple Intelligence features with iPadOS 18.1.
On the outside, the new iPad mini 7 looks exactly the same as its predecessor, except for two new colors available: a lighter purple and blue. Apple has upgraded connectivity with Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and USB-C 3.1 with speeds up to 10Gbps.
Pre-orders for the iPad mini 7 are now available on Apple's website, but you can also find great deals on other iPad models on Amazon.
