All new MacBook Pro and iMac models announced this week feature an updated 12-megapixel front-facing camera with support for Center Stage and Desk View.
Apple says the new camera delivers “improved video quality in challenging lighting conditions.”
Center Stage is a feature that automatically keeps you in the center of the camera’s field of view as you move around, while Desk View can show other participants in a video call both a view of your face and an overhead view of your desk.
Center Stage is available in video calling apps like FaceTime and Zoom. Previously, the feature was limited to new iPad models and Mac computers connected to Apple’s external Studio Display. The new MacBook Pro and iMac are the first Macs to support Center Stage without the need for a Studio Display.
The new MacBook Pro and iMac are available to order now and will ship to customers on Friday, November 8.
