Apple’s new iMac, Mac mini, and MacBook Pro models go on sale this Friday, November 8, and here are 10 things you need to know about them.
- Both the M2 and M3 MacBook Airs now come with 16GB of RAM, meaning the entire Mac lineup now comes with at least 16GB of RAM.
- For the first time, the MacBook Pro has a nano-texture display option.
- Apple’s “Center Stage” feature, which keeps you centered in the camera’s field of view as you move, is available on the new iMac and MacBook Pro models, making them the first Macs to feature the same 16GB of RAM. which offer this feature without the need for a Studio Display.
- All new Mac computers with the M4 Pro or M4 Max chips support Thunderbolt 5, which has theoretical data transfer speeds of up to 120Gbps.
- The new Mac mini is significantly smaller and for the first time features two USB-C ports and a headphone jack on the front of the computer.
- The new Mac mini places the power button on the bottom of the computer.
- The base model 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 chip supports two external displays, even when the notebook’s lid is open.
- The base model 14-inch MacBook Pro is now available in Space Black.
- The new iMac and the existing Mac Pro now come with USB-C versions of the Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard in the box, and the USB-C Magic Trackpad is an optional upgrade. Accessories are also sold separately.
- All new MacBook Pro models can achieve display brightness up to 1000 nits outdoors without the need for third-party apps like Vivid.
