macOS Sequoia 15.1, iPadOS 18.1 beta 6 are now available, here's what to expect

Today, Apple released developer beta 6 for macOS Sequoia 15.1 and iPadOS 18.1. These updates contain the latest versions of Apple Intelligence launch features. There are also new betas for watchOS, tvOS, and more. Here's what to expect.

New betas arrive with public launch date approaching

Today's beta 6 releases bring us even closer to the full public launches of iPadOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1. That means the first set of Apple Intelligence features is coming soon.

Previous beta 5 updates have brought a slew of improvements:

  • iPhone Mirroring Gets Drag and Drop Support
  • Control Center Gets New Connection Controls
  • Notes Gets Apple Intelligence Shortcut in Toolbar
  • Plus a Few Other Small Tweaks

The full public launch of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 is expected in the next few weeks, with October 28th being the most likely release date.

That means today's beta 6 updates will likely have fewer changes than what we saw in beta 5.

Towards the end of the beta cycle, Apple will focus on squashing as many bugs and performance issues as possible. Pushing new features is generally counterproductive to achieving that goal.

However, we'll keep you updated on any updates we discover.
