Jamf offers new products to help organizations meet their security and compliance needs using Apple devices.

During the livestream today, Jamf unveiled several new product announcements designed to satisfy news IT teams looking for help solving security and compliance with regulatory requirements when managing a fleet of Apple Mac computers, iPads, iPhones and other devices.

“At Jamf, we celebrate the differences between Apple devices, but also understand that they still must meet the same high compliance standards as other devices used to work,” said Sam Johnson, Jamf’s chief customer officer.  “This means that IT administrators are encouraged to become more involved beyond traditional device management functions to ensure compliance with various compliance standards on their Apple devices. Jamf prides itself on providing a platform that organizations trust and users love, and our approach to providing tools that help clients navigate the vast and diverse compliance landscape is no exception.”

Jamf Protect Compliance Dashboard

At the event, Jamf introduced a customizable compliance dashboard for Jamf Protect, offering a new approach to viewing CIS compliance across the full range of your devices. This innovative dashboard allows IT administrators to see an overall baseline score called the Fleet Security Strengthening Score. along with the ability to drill down into the finer points to identify and resolve compliance issues across the entire device fleet.

Compliance Editor with Jamf Pro for iOS and iPadOS

This feature removes any uncertainty regarding compliance on mobile devices. The Compliance Editor serves as a mechanism for creating deployable configuration files in Jamf Pro, allowing organizations to comply with CIS standards. Jamf said the Compliance Editor is now available for both iOS and iPadOS, providing consistent security standards across Macs, iPhones and iPads. With the Compliance Editor, administrators can quickly create the numerous detailed configurations needed to ensure endpoints comply with a selected test in just a few clicks.

Jamf programs in Jamf Pro

Jamf has introduced Jamf Routines, providing Jamf Pro users with innovative, no-code automation and integration tools to empower IT teams to be more powerful and efficient. Administrators now have the ability to set up integrations between Jamf Pro and platforms like Slack or Microsoft Teams, with automatic notifications triggered under certain conditions, such as when a device becomes incompatible. With Jamf Routines, administrators can also determine when the Jamf Management Framework needs to be redeployed to restore device compliance, improving overall security and compliance.

Elevation of privileges in Jamf Connect for macOS grants temporary and conditional access to admin rights

Jamf also introduced Privilege Elevation, a new feature that leverages an organization's cloud identity provider in conjunction with Jamf Connect to grant temporary admin rights to local macOS accounts under certain conditions, depending on the authentication and authorization of the legitimate user. During this period, through integration with Jamf Protect, Jamf will provide comprehensive telemetry about tasks running on the device with elevated privileges. This initiative helps organizations audit endpoint activity while making it easier to detect and respond to intrusions on macOS systems.

App version control in app installers keeps apps updated and protected

Jamf also showed improvements to app installers, particularly with the recent launch of app version control. This enhancement gives administrators more control over the deployment of application installers, allowing them to try out a version on a select group of devices before deciding which version to deploy to target computers as they see fit. The ability to choose between automatic or manual updates for version detection gives administrators the flexibility and authority over app installer applications on their network, ensuring that users can be productive with core business applications while remaining secure and up-to-date.

Jamf also announced plans to introduce watchOS control capabilities later this year. including registration and inventory functions. Finally, Jamf shared its recent announcement that it now offers support for Apple Vision Pro across the entire Jamf suite. With Jamf Pro, companies can simplify the onboarding process and streamline the deployment of enterprise applications and settings in Apple Vision Pro. Jamf Connect gives Apple Vision Pro users secure access to corporate resources, supporting both web applications and native applications that require secure identity-based access control. Additionally, Jamf Protect extends the comprehensive mobile threat protection, network security, and content filtering capabilities already found on iPhone, iPad, and Mac to Apple Vision Pro, providing robust protection against digital threats.
