iPhone SE 4 Release Date: When to Expect Apple's Powerful Update

Apple recently launched its flagship iPhone 16 lineup with a focus on Apple Intelligence. But another new iPhone is coming soon that offers some of the same cutting-edge technology, but at a much lower price. Here's When to Expect the iPhone SE 4.

The Next iPhone SE Is Coming in Early 2025

According to multiple reports, Apple is planning to release the iPhone SE 4 in early 2025.

In particular, March 2025 is a strong candidate for the launch month.

Apple doesn't often launch new products in January or February, but almost always plans launches for March and/or April.

According to reports from the supply chain, iPhone SE 4 production is pointing to a March release date.

For comparison, Apple's previous iPhone SE launches have occurred on the following dates:

iPhone SE 3: March 18, 2022
iPhone SE 2: April 24, 2020
iPhone SE: March 24, 2017

As you can see, Apple released new iPhone SE models in both March and April, but the only April instance was during COVID.

Features of the new iPhone SE 4

When Apple's new iPhone SE arrives, it's expected to be a huge upgrade over the current SE model.

Here are the key features:

An edge-to-edge OLED display with no Home button, Face ID, or notch
An A18 chip, the same one found in the iPhone 16
8GB of RAM
Support for Apple Intelligence
A 48-megapixel camera, on par with the iPhone 16
A USB-C port
and the first Apple-designed 5G modem

All of these features will come at a significantly reduced price compared to the iPhone 16.

The current iPhone SE starts at $429. Apple may not keep the new SE that low, but you can expect it to at least get a storage bump over the current offering and cost no more than $499, maybe less.

It may lack some of the more expensive iPhone 16's useful features, but the iPhone SE 4 looks to be the better model for most buyers.
