Apple's new iPhone 16 Pro models will have the thinnest bezels of any smartphone, surpassing even the latest iPhone 15 Pro in terms of screen thickness. That's according to a leaker known as “Ice Universe,” who has leaked accurate information about Apple's plans in the past.
According to several sources, despite minimal design changes, both iPhone 16 Pro models will increase in size this year. The iPhone 16 Pro is said to be 6.3 inches (up from 6.1). The iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to be 6.9 inches (up from 6.7), potentially making it Apple's largest iPhone ever.
But it looks like Apple isn't having it easy. relies on larger physical dimensions to make the viewing experience more immersive. A breakthrough in achieving this goal could be Apple's use of Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology, which allows for more compact and efficient placement of circuits under the display, resulting in why the frames have become even thinner. Ice Universe doesn't mention BRS, but two rumors out of Asia mention the technology in relation to iPhone 16 models.

Last year, Apple reduced the bezels on iPhone 15 Pro models using low-injection molding, or LIPO, to reduce the size of the display border to 1.5 millimeters (compared to about 2.2 millimeters on iPhone 14 models ). Additionally, Apple has not significantly changed iPhone screen sizes since the release of iPhone 12 models in 2020. But as mentioned, that will change with the Pro models in the 2024 iPhone 16 lineup.
