iOS 26 allows you to install user ringtones without using Garageband

Joe Rossinol

dust begins to settle on iOS 26, but there is another less improvement that we wanted to make sure that we have highlighted: the ability to install user ringtones on the iPhone without using the GarageBand application.

To install user ringtone on iOS 26, open the Files application and click on the MP3 audio file or mp3 M4A less than 30 seconds. Then click the “Share” button in the lower right corner of the screen, click more and click “Use” as a ringtone. Then this audio file will be indicated as the Rington option in the “Settings” application to sounds and gaptiki → Rington. Nevertheless, it is impossible to highlight the Apple Music songs for free as user ringtones, even using a subscription.
