iOS 18.3 Public Beta Now Available. Here's What to Expect

Apple today released the public beta of iOS 18.3. The new beta offers a preview of the next iPhone software update for participants in Apple's beta software program. Here's what to expect from today's release.

iOS 18.3 beta is light on new features… yet

iOS 18.3 made its first public beta appearance on Monday as a developer-exclusive launch. Today's public beta has the same build number as that release, so we know exactly what to expect from public beta 1.

There's… not much to expect.

There are very few notable new features or changes in iOS 18.3. The only notable reveal so far is that Apple is laying the groundwork for robot vacuum support in the Home app.

But other than maybe some small UI tweaks here and there and bug fixes, that's pretty much it for beta 1.

In some ways, the meagerness of the update's changes isn't entirely surprising.

Apple's engineers are about to take an extended break for the holidays, so if iOS 18.3 beta 1 causes any significant problems for users, the timing will be bad.

Hopefully, we'll see more exciting changes in beta 2 when it debuts.

Apple's lineup of new beta software

Apple released major software updates across its entire platform lineup last week. These include major features like ChatGPT integration, Genmoji, major updates to Mac Virtual Display, and more.

The following updates are now coming to Apple's public betas:

  • iOS 18.3
  • iPadOS 18.3
  • macOS Sequoia 15.3
  • watchOS 11.3
  • tvOS 18.3

Like iOS 18.3, the other updates don't offer much in the way of changes yet. The biggest highlight is the arrival of Genmoji on the Mac in macOS 15.3.
