iOS 18.2 Brings Apple Intelligence Support to More Regions

The first developer beta of iOS 18.2 is out today, bringing a host of new Apple Intelligence features like image generation with Genmoji and Image Playground.

But most excitingly for users outside the US, iOS 18.2 also officially expands Apple Intelligence support to the United States for the first time.

With iOS 18.1, users in other countries can try out Apple Intelligence by changing their device's system language settings to US English.

But with iOS 18.2, Apple Intelligence will now officially support five regional versions of English outside the United States. With the new Apple Intelligence software, Apple now natively supports the following languages:

  • English (Australia)
  • English (Canada)
  • English (New Zealand)
  • English (South Africa)
  • English (United Kingdom)

This means customers in these markets will automatically have access to all of the Apple Intelligence features released to date (including Writing Tools, Siri updates, AI Photos features, and more) without having to change their language to US English.

While only a developer beta is available today, Apple has previously said that support for these languages will be added in December 2024, which suggests iOS 18.2 will ship in about two months.

Support for more English variants and completely different international languages will come in 2025. Last month, Apple announced a language roadmap that includes French, Spanish, German and Italian, among others.
