Apple released iOS 18.2 beta 3 to developers today. It's not as big an update as the first two betas, but there are a couple of changes worth noting.
iOS 18.2 beta 3 is available to developer beta testers with build number 22C5131e. A new version of the public beta will likely be released later this week.
iOS 18.2 beta 3 is available for all iPhones that support iOS 18. Apple Intelligence features are, of course, still limited to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPhone 16 models.
What's new in iOS 18.2 beta 3?
Camera controls
There’s a new option in the Settings app that lets you turn off the “Require Screen to Turn On” option to control the camera. This means you can open the Camera app with a single tap, whether your iPhone 16’s screen is on or not.
CarPlay Icons
As Aaron Parris noted, Apple is continuing to tweak the icons for the next-generation CarPlay. While iOS 18.2 beta 3 isn’t yet available for any cars, the Media and Climate app icons are being updated for the updated CarPlay experience coming later this year.
Changing the Photos App
Apple has made a small but noticeable change to the Photos app. In iOS 18.2 beta 3, tapping a video in the Photos app no longer zooms in or out. Instead, both the video scroll and the gallery view at the bottom remain visible on top of the video.

Customize the TV app on iPad
In iPadOS 18.2 beta 3, the navigation bar in the TV app is now customizable. You can add any sidebar item to the tab bar, including Channels, Apps, Library sections, and Sports.
