Apple is testing iOS 18.2.1 internally for iPhone, according to software update data in our website's analytics logs this week. The logs have accurately identified multiple versions of iOS before they are released.
iOS 18.2.1 is expected to be a minor update that fixes bugs and/or security vulnerabilities, but it's unclear exactly what issues might be addressed. The update will likely arrive in late December or early January.
There may be companion updates like macOS 15.2.1, but we haven’t confirmed that.
iOS 18.2.1 comes after iOS 18.2, which was released earlier this month. iOS 18.2 introduced more Apple Intelligence features to iPhone 15 Pro models and all iPhone 16 models, including Genmoji, Image Playground, ChatGPT integration for Siri, and more. iOS 18.2 also added a useful feature to the Find My app that lets you share the location of your AirTag-equipped luggage with select airlines, including Delta, United, Air Canada, and more, making it quicker and easier for the airline to find your lost or delayed bags.
Apple is also testing iOS 18.3 with developers and public beta testers. The update is likely to be released in January, and so far it only includes minor changes.
