GroceryBot is a new iPhone app that aims to simplify grocery shopping and planning by turning it into an all-in-one meal prep and planning app.

res”>GroceryBot Key Features

The app bills itself as the world's smartest shopping list, and I'd say that description is pretty accurate. GroceryBot has a lot of cool features that will make your grocery shopping experience easier, including:

  • Automatic categorization of individual products
  • An AI assistant that asks questions about foods and plans meals
  • Import foods using a recipe URL
  • Expiration reminders, reduce food waste
  • Nutritional information on individual foods, plus note-taking
  • Family sharing via QR code
  • Kits – a pre-made list of foods that you can add to your shopping list as needed
  • Scan barcodes and voice input to add foods
  • and more!

Personal Notes

One of the cool things about GroceryBot is that you can sort your groceries by store. When you first open the app, you’ll be able to add your favorite grocery stores that you shop at. If you tend to buy certain items at one store because they’re cheaper, for example, or if you have a specific store that you go to for a special item, you can easily sort them in GroceryBot. There’s a tab for all groceries, and then tabs for each store.

You can also interact with the built-in AI chat, which the developer says is privacy-focused. With the built-in assistant, you can ask questions about meal ideas or ask it to add a certain item to your list for the week. It’s a handy little feature, especially if you don’t have anything specific in mind when shopping or want to mix things up a bit.

The last cool feature is bundles. It allows you to import a recipe from a URL, and all the ingredients you need for that dish will be grouped together in the app. You can then simply tap on a set and add the group of ingredients to your list.

Download GroceryBot

GroceryBot is available for free on the App Store with basic features, and you can subscribe to GroceryBot+ for $2.99 per month or $19.99 per year for the full experience, including the AI chat feature. You’ll need an iPhone running iOS 17 or later. The app is also available on Mac and Apple Vision Pro as an iPhone app, though there are no native versions for those platforms.
