Incase has been my favorite Apple accessory brand since before I started working at 9to5Mac in 2013. Seriously, their steel… Bird's Nest Snap Colorful iPhone 4 Case was the perfect combination of chaos and expression for me in 2011. Fast forward to 2024, and Incase has brought back another crowd-pleaser with its ICON line of cases.
The Incase ICON case design is much more mature than Bird's Nest Snap case line, which I favored back in the day. . The ICON line of cases for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is more like Apple's FineWoven line, without the drama.
I tested the Woolenex Graphite and Brown Pebbled Vegan Leather versions on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Each case is both comfortable and durable. The design of the case provides enough protection without turning your iPhone into a small brick. Even though the case uses a closed bottom design, the USB-C port is accessible enough to accommodate bulky cables. The microphone and speaker openings are also exposed, so you can appreciate the titanium finish of iPhone 15 Pro.
Both ICON iPhone 15 Pro cases feature MagSafe integration for wireless charging and connecting other magnetic accessories. The MagSafe Wallet will pair nicely with any premium case design.
While I expected to like the brown pebbled vegan leather better, the color and feel of the Woolenex graphite pairs best with my natural titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Brown pebbled vegtan leather, on the other hand, has a football look that NFL and college football fans can enhance with a team-logo MagSafe accessory. I'm already thinking about pairing it with a New Orleans Saints MagSafe card holder for game days this year. #WhoDat⚜️
Despite the case's premium feel and tactile buttons, the ICON case retains the design with a cutout for a mute switch rather than adapting to the iPhone 15 Pro with Action buttons and incorporating a button on the case.
There's no way you can press the iPhone 15 Pro's action button to launch the Camera app or your preferred shortcut, but the cutout makes the button recessed and not even with volume buttons. This is the only thing I would change about the ICON Case for iPhone 15 Pro.
