Here's what the MacBook Air lineup looks like with the new M3 models

Apple today unveiled its new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air M3 models, but what does that mean for the rest of the lineup MacBook Air? The M2 is cheaper, and the M1 MacBook Air has been discontinued.

Here's the state of the MacBook Air line after today's news:

  • 13-inch MacBook Air M2: starting at $999 US
  • 13-inch MacBook Air M3: $1,099
  • 15-inch MacBook Air M3: $1,299

How As you can see, Apple today discontinued the 13-inch M1 MacBook Air and 15-inch M2 MacBook Air. Meanwhile, the MacBook Air M2 is now $100 cheaper than before.

Remarkably, the classic wedge-shaped design of the MacBook Air is officially gone forever. The discontinuation of the M1 MacBook Air is also notable because it was one of the first Apple Silicon Macs released in 2020.
